WINE TOURS AND TASTING
Enjoy local wine tours and tastings in the Tuscan countryside near Ripostena
Ripostena is the perfect place to experience Tuscany wine tours. Surrounded by the most important wine and food regions in all of Italy, you can explore the incredible Tuscan wine regions all within short driving distance. Head to the UNESCO World Heritage site surrounding Montalcino and visit wonderful Brunello wineries. Follow the Chianti wine trail to create your own Chianti tour in the areas around Castellina or Greve in Chianti. The towers of San Gimignano that can be seen from Rispostena are surrounded by Tuscany’s most important white wine region Vernaccia di San Gimignano. Feeling adventurous? Another great Tuscany wine tour is the Nobile di Montepulciano wine region with bold reds. We are happy to arrange for a wine tasting of local wines directly in your apartment or on one of Ripostena’s beautiful terraces. We can also put you in touch with a friendly local driver so you can spend the day doing Tuscany wine touring without worrying about driving.
Ripostena is a foodie paradise! We can arrange for Tuscan hands-on cooking classes directly in your apartment with fun local chefs or at a nearby agritourism. We can send you to our favorite pecorino cheese producers, many of which are organic or small family run farms. They will show you their aging rooms and explain the ancient methods of production and of course give you a taste of the various types and ages of cheese. You have probably heard of the mysterious gourmet food called truffles – what you might not know is that they are plentiful in Tuscany. You can spend a morning hunting with a truffle hunter and his trusty dog to find these unique treasures in the Tuscan woods. If you love meats – we can book you for lunch at a famous butcher shop restaurant or send you to a local artisanal salumi maker for a tasting of their prosciutto, salami, capocollo and other Tuscan salt-cured meats. Don’t forget, we are happy to recommend fantastic local restaurants, tell you about local festivals to experience, or suggest local farms where you can buy produce while at Ripostena.
